Sixth 45-Nanometer Processor

This is the sixth 45-nanometer microprocessor from Intel. As you can tell, it is quite small.

Such a device could go in low cost notebooks and computers. Since it is small, it costs less to make. Think of such a device going into notebooks for emerging markets.

Such a device is also small enough for CE and handheld devices.

Process technologies are ten-year-plus developments. It’s a “ten-year journey”.

It’s not “every two years you do one”.

“It’s just one comes out every two years”.

There’s not just a barrier to entry of billions to build a fab. There’s also an investment of time of about ten years.
