Core 2 Duo for Embedded

December 3, 2006

Core 2 Duo

While quad-core is making its way into high-end PCs with the Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor, and into volume Dual Processor servers with the Xeon 5300 series, dual-core processors based on the Core microarchitecture are making their way into the lower-end embedded market.

Desktop Core 2 Duo E6400 is being paired with the recent Q965 Express chipset for embedded.

The mobile Core 2 Duo T7400 is also being paired with the older 945GM Express chipset, which had already been approved for embedded applications.
