Tid-bits

1/17 - NVIDIA is primarily an AMD company. Nevertheless not too long ago it released core logic for a high-end Intel gaming platform, the NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 MCP, and Dell and others have manufactured desktops using this core logic. NVIDIA is now extending its Intel offering with two new core logic products. It's the same family, but the two products serve lower-end segments. The NVIDIA nForce4 SLI XE is core logic for motherboards that are expected to retail for less than $100 and yet allow system builders and the do-it-yourself community to experiment with SLI technology and "install two graphics cards immediately for scalable gaming performance".

The NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra MCP is for general users and runs only one graphics card. Together these new products allow NVIDIA "to capitalize on these high-volume Intel segments".
