Internosis specializes in IT strategy, application development, infrastructure, and managed services for Microsoft environments. The acquisition will help EMC provide Microsoft services and solutions for its clients. "Internosis is one of the fastest-growing IT services firms focusing on the integration of Microsoft technologies within the enterprise".
eWEEK named VMware Workstation 5 a Top Product of 2005. "This is the fifth major industry award that Workstation 5 has won since its release in April 2005".
Novell has contributed Linux code from its AppArmor framework as a foundation for a new open source project aimed at securing applications. Applications are a primary attack vector of those attempting to subvert networks these days. The security is simple enough to achieve widespread adoption. "Novell AppArmor is the only enterprise-deployable Linux application security solution that can be applied in hours".
RIS News ranked Novell among technology suppliers to the retail sector. Novell was the only Linux distributor included in the ranking. "In only its first appearance on the Leaderboard, Novell ranked second in three categories".
SAP has added 39 solutions to its offerings for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs). The solutions were forged by SAP partners. Must be nice. SAP has "the world’s largest portfolio of micro-vertical solutions for SMEs".
Target will migrate its computer systems in its 1,400 stores to the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, Windows Server 2003, and SQL Server 2005, building solutions on top of and with these platforms. Target is "the nation’s second-largest discount general merchandise retailer".
AOL acquired Internet search company Truveo. The strength of Truveo's video search technology lies in its ability to find information on dynamic web pages. Truveo's video search engine includes "video that cannot be found in any other search engine".
