1/13 - In case you missed it, Apple's new MacBook Pro and iMac both feature ATI graphics in the form of the Mobility Radeon X1600 and the Radeon X1600, respectively. Both are PCI Express graphics solutions. "ATI is the leading supplier of desktop and mobile graphics technology for the Apple platform".

The Mobility Radeon X1600 also features power management technology for longer battery life while running a powerful multimedia OS and applications, though in all fairness the competition offers power management, too, though not on the Mac platform. Apple selected ATI to power its first MacBook Pro based on PCI Express and running Intel's dual-core processor. "Since the transition to PCI Express began, ATI has captured the market on notebook designs".

Software and web developers can have programmatic access to lists of web sites ordered by Alexa Traffic rank, one of the largest and most up-to-date samples of Internet usage available, through the Alexa Top Sites web service. Alexa Internet is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. The Alexa Top Sites web service is "the first time that Alexa's Traffic Rankings have been available programmatically as complete lists".

Microsoft researchers have presented prototypes of advertising technologies designed to provide targeting capabilities and contextual advertising. The objective is to improve advertisers' ROI. The Microsoft researchers have published in areas such as information retrieval, data mining, visual computing, and smart devices to the tune of "more than 80 articles".
