12/3 - The deadline for ordering online, and having gifts arrive on time, should be around 12/19. "Many orders will have to be placed by Dec. 19 in order for the shipments to arrive before Christmas".
Skype, like Google, has become a verb. Skype 2.0 enables computer users "to see and send real time video as they Skype" (emphasis mine).
The four largest makers of computer memory colluded to fix prices back around 2002. Victims were the major computer manufacturers, not to mention consumers, who had to either pay more for computers or make do with less memory. The tip that something was wrong was that prices for memory were rising while the rest of the industry was in decline. Michael Dell at the time attributed pricing to "cartel-like behavior".
Just because Microsoft is working to minimize reboots in Windows Vista does not mean that there will never be any reboots. There will be. However, applications will be able to return to the point at which they left off when the OS comes back up. The only caveat is that applications must be "written to take advantage of the new Restart Manager".

Memory chip manufacturer Elpida has a new fabrication facility—E300. The 300 probably refers to the size of its wafers—300 mm—whereas the E must stand for Elpida. Plant will have "the largest semiconductor wafer processing capacity in Japan".
