11/30 - Intel recently released Virtualization Technology (VT) with its 600 series CPUs. Now VMware has released a new version of VMware Workstation that supports VT. The new VMWare release also supports, among other things, 64-bit extensions on Athlon 64 CPUs and Intel CPUs with EM64T (enhanced memory 64-bit technology). "VMware Workstation 5.5 is the market's first commercially available virtualization software solution to provide 64-bit virtualized Operating Systems".

Microsoft's efforts to improve MSN Shopping appear to have paid off. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, so called because that is when brick and mortar businesses become profitable and return to the black. The online equivalent of Black Friday is the Monday following Thanksgiving, when people return to work and do all of their shopping on their lunch hour. Microsoft's results on Monday were even better than eBay's, which saw a 37% improvement over last year. "MSN Shopping had a 52 percent increase in page views".

Seagate 1" hard drives for consumer electronics devices at least offer some advantages over competing technologies: "faster shooting and high definition video capture ... an even higher recording rate of still pictures in multi-shot mode as well as higher quality recording of moving pictures".
